A trip to the El Paso area wouldn't be complete without stopping by the Hal Marcus Gallery. This small art gallery between UTEP and Downtown features a vibrant and imaginative exhibition that provokes thought. Visitors can explore works by the local El Paso painter Hal Marcus and other talented artists. At the gallery, visitors can view works showcasing artists' skills in various mediums, including oil, acrylic, mixed media, pen and ink, etching, and sculpture. The exhibition also includes a nine-minute looping video that offers profound insights into the art and Hal Marcus's distinctive approach.
The El Paso Playhouse is a community theater that has been running for the longest time in El Paso. Initially known as the Festival Theatre, it has gone through several transformations and locations over the past 50 years. The theater offers various performing arts performances, including mysteries, comedies, dramas, and many others. In its 48 years, the theater has witnessed numerous changes, from paint colors to the genre of plays performed on stage and the countless actors and patrons visiting it. Yet, it has remained a solid and enduring institution that entertains, engages, and educates people from all walks of life through theatrical performances and community involvement.
