International Museum of Art International Museum of Art

There is definitely a top spot on your to-do list while in El Paso for a visit to the International Museum of Art located in the heart of the city's historic Rio Grande District and spotting a Victorian style mansion designed and finished in the early 1900s. The classic yet humble beginnings of the Museum date back to 1925 with the first display cases for collection of books, pottery, tapestries, and unique items.  As time progressed so did the nature of the International Museum evolving into a center for women’s contributions to the war effort and more eclectic displays including mineral samples, clothing and pottery until it became home of the priceless Kress Collection of Fine Art. Today, the International Association for the Visual Arts operates the International Museum which houses collections from all over the world.
