The Houston Zoo is home to more than 4,500 animals, with more than 900 species representing the seventh most-visited zoo in the nation. Cast your gaze into the wild-blue-yonder and encounter the Wings Over Houston Airshow, featuring the internationally famous and awe-inspiring US Navy Blue Angels. This event provides more than five hours of thrilling aerial shows from some of the greatest military and civilian pilots. Ranked as one of the top airshows in the country, it also offers ground attractions, such as simulators, ride-and-drive opportunities, and nearly 100 static aircraft to view. There’s even a play area for kids featuring a rock-climbing wall, inflatable slides and obstacles, carnival-style games, rides, and the NASA Driven to Explore Exhibit.

Capture a moment in time at the Houston Center for Photography, where you'll find evolving exhibits by emerging and established photographers and plenty of spur-of-the-moment workshops to brush up on your photography skills. As a small visual artists organization, their gallery features some of the finest works of contemporary photography. They also offer over 300 photography classes and workshops year-round. Varying in competency levels, these classes are all taught by esteemed photographers and lecturers, including some of the masters of the medium.
