Comparable to the New Orleans Mardi Gras celebration, Laredo's Jamboozie is a colorful festival featuring music, masks and beads. The rowdy celebration fills over 20 blocks downtown and consists of exotic food, dancing, and international performers. The 18-hole championship golf course at the Laredo Country Club is exclusive to members, although prospective members are welcome to survey the grounds and admire some of the finest putting greens in the state. The "Laredo" course was designed by Joseph S. Finger and opened in 1983. The 7,125-yard course plays from the longest tees for a par of 72, with a course rating of 74.6 and a slope rating of 133.
