Monkey around the Gladys Porter Zoo, where you can hang out with animals like gorillas, wallabies, rhinos, zebras, crocodiles, lions, kangaroos, and giraffes. The zoo's exhibits and attractions will lead you to far off lands like Asia, Africa, and Australia; while also showcasing wildlife here in the United States, and creatures of the ocean.

Visit the Los Ebanos Ferry and take a ride on a true Texas relic. The ferry is the last hand-operated cable ferry on the Rio Grande River. This little piece of Lone Star State history got it's name from the plant it is anchored by, the Texas Ebony. Don't bother going on a rainy day, the ferry doesn't run when the weather is bad.
