While you're there, you'll get an opportunity to hold living starfish, hermit crabs, sea urchins, and snails. Be sure to learn about the role that the Sea Life Nature Center has played in coastal conservation and the welfare of the ocean's inhabitants.

Celebrate unique border culture at Hidalgo's BorderFest. This festival is jam-packed with live music from regional and national talents like Paty Cantu, La Leyenda, Janet Jackson, and Selena Gomez. Other entertainment includes a parade, the Miss Hidalgo Pageant, a square dance, a car show, and sand sculptures by Sandscapes. This South Texas festival is all about fun.

Tee off on the course at the Club at Cimarron. The 18-hole course expands 6,821 yards on TifEagle Bermuda grass greens, with three to five tee locations at each hole. If you're wanting to perfect your game, head to the practice bunkers or the driving range. The club also offers lessons for youth and adults.
