As an artist-centric, educational, forward-thinking, and inclusive institution, Blue Star Contemporary Art Museum has multiple complementary programs that any artist can join. Such as the Open Studios, a film series that goes behind the scenes at artists' studios, the Art Education Lap, which provides hands-on programming and educational content, and outreach events that include workshops, artist talks, panel discussions, and film screenings.

Artistic passion flows throughout the City of San Antonio Department of Arts & Culture, where they strive to enrich the quality of life by creating art programming and helping people experience art. Being a leader in arts & culture, they manage two free art galleries, welcome film productions, and provide grants to individual arts and nonprofit organizations so they can continue to provide entertainment and education.
