Heart O' Texas Fair & Rodeo Heart O' Texas Fair & Rodeo

Saddle up and get ready for a whole lot of fun at the Heart O' Texas Fair & Rodeo held at the Extraco Events Center in Waco operated year-round along side more than 500 active volunteers, fulfilling their mission to produce events for education, entertainment and agricultural experiences at the premier multi-use facility while giving back through youth scholarships and a positive economic impact to Central Texas. Over the past 65 years, the Fair & Rodeo has offered Central Texas a place to come and support the community while enjoying the sights, sounds and smells that make the Heart O' Texas Fair & Rodeo what it is today. The Fair is held annually with close to 200,000 in attendance making it a must event for your Texan social calendar every year.

There's history that reaches back, and then there's history that reaches way back. That's what you'll find at the Waco Mammoth Site. This is where you can step back in time 68,000 years ago when mammoths and saber-toothed cats roamed the land that would eventually become Texas. Paleontologists came to discover this mammoth heard which was discovered in 1978 and wasn't opened for public viewing until 2009. These Pleistocene mammoths represent the first and only discovery of a nursery herd of these creatures, so don't miss this dramatic and unforgettable peek into some real stone age stories. If you have an interest in archeology, this is the place for you.
