Every January, Hollywood's best and brightest, as well as some of the industry's smartest and skillful movie makers convene in Salt Lake City for the annual Sundance Film Festival. Strategically held a few weeks before the Golden Globes and the Academy Awards, Sundance sets the stage for the films that are poised for receiving awards and brings attention to those that should be.
Utah's Hogle Zoo was founded back in 1931 at the mouth of Emigration Canyon and it remains one of the most visited attractions in Utah. There are over 800 animals in residence. Among the many must-see specimens are the five endangered species of Asian cats, African elephants and white rhinos. And, the little ones will take delight in riding on the Conservation Carousel, featuring hand-painted models of endangered or threatened animals, so it's fun and educational at the same time.
