Without a doubt, the First Landing/Seashore State Park is Virginia Beach's crown jewel attraction. This National Natural Landmark draws more than a million visitors a year, and with good reason. The park was established in the 1930s, and also is noted for being the northernmost point at which temperate and subtropical plants coexist. The ballet was established in 1975 and has been preserving the art of classical ballet and dance entertainment in Virginia Beach ever since. The group is a forum in which aspiring dancers can develop their talents as well as work toward being a part of the group that stages various productions throughout the year. These performances are funded in part by the City of Virginia Beach in cooperation with the Virginia Beach Arts and Humanities Commission and the Virginia Beach Foundation.
