Without a doubt, the First Landing/Seashore State Park is Virginia Beach's crown jewel attraction. This National Natural Landmark draws more than a million visitors a year, and with good reason. As the state's most popular state park, the area features facilities for such fun activities as hiking, biking, camping, fishing, boating, crabbing and swimming. The facilities for camping are top notch as they include a camp store and laundry facilities. The park was established in the 1930s, and also is noted for being the northernmost point at which temperate and subtropical plants coexist. The park also features handicap accessibility and offer cabin rentals.

Even though the sun has gone down, that doesn't mean that the heat has let up one bit when you make plans to spend your evening at Peabody's. This high energy dance club features the largest dance floor in Virginia and touts itself as the hottest place to get your groove on. You can literally party with thousands as this nightlife venue can accommodate quite a crowd. The drinks are served by expert barkeeps, the atmosphere is fun, energetic and yet inviting, and there is even an area to kick back and check out what's on one of the many big screen televisions. And of course, the crowd is filled with some of the most visually appealing people in town!

Virginia Beach's Old Coast Guard Station has an interesting past. It was founded as a Life Saving Station in 1903 and then became a Coast Guard Station from 1915 until 1969. The structure sat idle for ten years and faced demolition but was rescued by financial backers who then turned it into the historic facility that it is today. This fascinating maritime museum not only chronicles its own history with various presentations about the Coast Guard, but it also offers many interactive exhibits and attractions that detail the mission of the brave men and women whose job it was to protect, serve and search and rescue those in distress.

Virginia Beach's Symphonicity is taking the classical music experience to a completely new level. Formerly known as the Virginia Beach Symphony Orchestra, the group is made up of a surprising group of players. Not only does it feature current and former members of the symphony, it also calls on the talents of some of the finest musicians in the area. This not only includes retired and active symphony members but also public school teachers, freelance musicians, private instructors and composers, as well as business professionals, homemakers and a select group of high school students. The 100-plus members of this unique group perform regularly with the goal of bringing the classics to as wide an audience of music lovers as possible.
