Without a doubt, the First Landing/Seashore State Park is Virginia Beach's crown jewel attraction. This National Natural Landmark draws more than a million visitors a year, and with good reason. As the state's most popular state park, the area features facilities for such fun activities as hiking, biking, camping, fishing, boating, crabbing and swimming. The facilities for camping are top notch as they include a camp store and laundry facilities. The park was established in the 1930s, and also is noted for being the northernmost point at which temperate and subtropical plants coexist. Virginia Beach's Symphonicity is taking the classical music experience to a completely new level. Formerly known as the Virginia Beach Symphony Orchestra, the group is made up of a surprising group of players. Not only does it feature current and former members of the symphony, it also calls on the talents of some of the finest musicians in the area. This not only includes retired and active symphony members but also public school teachers, freelance musicians, private instructors and composers, as well as business professionals, homemakers and a select group of high school students. The 100-plus members of this unique group perform regularly with the goal of bringing the classics to as wide an audience of music lovers as possible.

You can find those scenarios and lots more when you plan a special romantic excursion to the Virginia Beach Boardwalk. This is the area's newly renovated, three-mile stretch of boardwalk that offers an excellent choice of restaurants, outdoor cafes, shops and entertainment. There are even outdoor music performances and concerts scheduled at various times throughout the year.

There is no question that dinosaurs capture the imaginations of people of all ages. What is known about these compelling prehistoric creatures is equal parts fact and imagination. Those two elements are brilliantly combined and displayed at the Dinosaur Discovery Trail. Guests will marvel at the lifelike detail that has gone into the creation of these unforgettable exhibits. The museum is presented in an amphitheater that features five automated dinosaurs as well as a 40 minute cinematic production that gives even more detailed information about these amazing creatures.
