The Casper Marathon is held every June and it stands as a very dramatic reminder of the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Participants are invited to "run with the herd" in an event that is half marathon, half marathon relay. The marathon is staged by the Casper Windy City Striders, the city's running club. Even though the group that organizes this event has literally logged thousands of miles in their respective races and daily runs; every effort is put forth to make this festival nothing short of a runaway success.

Casper's National Historic Trails Interpretive Center is one of the area's most popular attractions for several good reasons. This venue offers a chance to learn about the role that various trails played in the development of Wyoming and the western part of the country. Learn in detail about some of the area's most significant trails that include the Oregon, California, Mormon, Bridger and even the Pony Express. In addition to seeing visually arresting exhibits about the history of these trails, visitors can actually experience the trails themselves by follow the BLM signs outside the center. The National Historic Trails Center gives you the unique opportunity to walk through the same trails that have been used since the late 19th century.

The Pathfinder Reservoir is situated on the North Platte River between Casper and Rawlins. It sits 47 miles southwest of Casper. The reservoir is part of the Pathfinder National Wildlife Refuge. It is a favorite destination for family fun and water recreation like swimming, fishing and water skiing during the summer months.
