The Pathfinder Reservoir is situated on the North Platte River between Casper and Rawlins. It sits 47 miles southwest of Casper. The reservoir is part of the Pathfinder National Wildlife Refuge. It is a favorite destination for family fun and water recreation like swimming, fishing and water skiing during the summer months.
Both the Casper Symphony Orchestra and the Casper College Theatre Department make the Gertrude Krampert Theatre their home base. Aside from delivering consistently impressive musical and dramatic performances, the entertainment venue also hosts various seasonal productions as well as performances from various regional and national artists.
Nature lovers usually can't sit still for long, and that's why the Platte River Parkway Trail is so appealing for many people who live in Casper. This trail system runs approximately ten miles in length, east to west through the Casper community, connecting many parks and recreation areas. The trail is popular with walkers, runners and folks out to enjoy a day of outdoor recreational activities on land or on the river. There's also plenty of wildlife to view from either the trail or the lakeside.
