View the historic locomotive Old Sadie in the Botanic Gardens. Back when the railroad was the lifeblood of the Rocky Mountains and High Plains, this locomotive ran its route on the Union Pacific. Known as "The 1242", Old Sadie was pulled from commission in 1959 and retired as a historical landmark.
Located inside the historic Union Pacific Railroad depot, the Cheyenne Depot Museum, also known as the Wyoming Transportation Museum, tells the interwoven stories of the city’s origins and the Transcontinental Railroad.
