The Historic Governors’ Mansion provided residence for Wyoming’s governor from 1905 until 1976. This historic landmark and attraction is currently operating as a house museum, with rooms displaying decorations and artifacts from the 1905, 1937, 1955 and 1960s eras. This retired Old Number 4004, the world’s largest steam locomotive, used to harness the power of coal to pull a 3,600-ton train along the steep hills of Union Pacific railroad. Although you can no longer climb aboard, Big Boy remains an imposing sight and one of the city's best attractions.
