Learn about the history and legends of the pioneering western women at the Cowgirls of the West Museum. This organization and museum preserves the heritage and history of women who were vital to the taming of the Wild West. Hear stories and view a collection of memorabilia of the daring women who helped win the American West.

Stretch your legs on the Historical Walking Tour, a self-guided walking tour through Lakeview Cemetery. Pick up a pamphlet from the front office and then wind your way around this gorgeous, historical resting place for all of Cheyenne’s famous, infamous and average citizens. Learn a little about the lives and histories of these people as you tour the grounds.

Support the University of Wyoming’s athletic teams, the Wyoming Cowboys, in a wide range of sports. Represented by the iconic silhouette of a cowboy riding a bucking bronco, these NCAA Division I sports teams include basketball, football, golf, volleyball, track and field, cross country, wrestling, tennis, soccer and swimming and diving.

Visit Capital City’s state capitol. The Wyoming State Capitol in Cheyenne is a notable US National Historic Landmark, and has been a part of the community since even before Wyoming officially gained statehood. Architects designed this Corinthian building with the United States Capitol in mind; admire the stunning construction as you walk through this seat of government on a weekday tour.
