Hot Spot Tanning

Located in Lincoln Park, Johnson Pool is a great way to cool down during the hot summer months. This seasonal outdoor pool is open to the public from June until August, and offers pool rentals, swimming lessons and a swim team. Take advantage of this 25-yard lap pool and diving board for a water recreation-filled summer!

Visit Capital City’s state capitol. The Wyoming State Capitol in Cheyenne is a notable US National Historic Landmark, and has been a part of the community since even before Wyoming officially gained statehood. Architects designed this Corinthian building with the United States Capitol in mind; admire the stunning construction as you walk through this seat of government on a weekday tour.

Get active outdoors along the Dry Creek Parkway, a wide but linear park with an expansive bike trail and disc golf (also known as Frisbee golf) course. Like the Greater Cheyenne Greenway, this park’s trails are expanding and growing in popularity. Walk, play and explore the area following the creek, which forms a few lakes and ponds along the way.

Get up close and personal with the great North American bison at the Terry Bison Ranch, just seven miles south of Cheyenne. Explore the ranch resort attractions and its grassland grazers on either the custom-built train or by horseback riding along the trails. You can also enjoy fishing at the rainbow trout-stocked pond, let the children play at the Kid Corral and dine at the excellent Senator’s Steakhouse.
