The National Gallery of Art
The National Gallery of Art offers everything you ever wanted to know about art and presents an incredible amount of it all in one place. The Gallery's numerous exhibits and attractions stretch from the Middle Ages all the way to today. Works by da Vinci, Rembrandt, Raphael and Titian, among others, are all here. The facility proudly exhibits over 3,000 paintings, 2,000 pieces of sculpture and over 100,000 prints, drawings and other interesting pieces. Also, don't forget to spend a little time in the Sculpture Garden that can be found at the corner of 7th and Madison.
Habana Village
Habana Village is layers of fun...literally! This is an unbelievable four-story nightlife destination. Find your place on the floor to dance the salsa, merengue, tango or samba to add more than just a little spice to your evening. If you aren't quite sure of the steps, there are lessons available to help you find your groove. There isn't much time to be off your feet, but if you do need a bit of a breather, there are excellent lounges on the third and fourth floors that will revitalize your spirit. The specialty drink at Habana Village is the mojito, a tasty mix of rum, sugar and crushed mint leaves that will help you get dancing again, too.
The Capital Crescent Trail
The Capital Crescent Trail is one of the area's most popular. This 11-mile trail begins in Silver Spring, Maryland, curves westward through Maryland into Washington, DC and ends in the heart of historic Georgetown. Captivating, beautiful scenery marks this as an exceptional recreation trail for walking, hiking and biking.
Newseum
Located between the U.S. Capitol and the White House, Newseum offers a fresh take on the traditional museum experience. You and your date will be pleasantly surprised at how much fun you'll have absorbing the exhibits that are as informative as they are entertaining. Over the course of 14 galleries you'll see how the free press has been the cornerstone of democracy. Various mediums are the subjects of the many exhibits.
