This is a nationally recognized botanical and research garden attraction. You will be amazed at the incredible display of natural beauty that features 300 annual flowers, vegetables and herbs as well as over 1,000 perennials. The garden's unique design allows visitors to ask questions and learn while also enjoying the relaxing environment that these plants and flowers naturally create.

Sure, it's cold in Fairbanks. But you will really need to bundle up when you take the Arctic Circle Driving Adventure, as it will get even colder on this fun and highly captivating excursion. This guided tour moves along the Dalton Highway into the Alaskan arctic on what is truly a comprehensive ground tour. See gold mines, sections of the pipeline, as well as the Arctic Circle Trading Post. When you see the tundra, you will get a real sense of how expansive Alaska's arctic regions actually are. When you are on your way back, you will see a scenic view of the Yukon River, the northland's most famous waterway. This tour is only available May through September and is not recommended for very young children.

You can enjoy some of the best live music courtesy of local favorite Sand Castle every Friday and Saturday night when you make plans to visit McCafferty's, A Coffee House, Etc. This unique entertainment venue, is, as its title suggests, a coffee house that serves a great variety of blends. But it also is a great hangout with an easy-going vibe that offers a great way to enjoy some great live music in a classic coffee house setting.

If you prefer to stay closer to home while still enjoying one of Fairbanks' excellent recreation trails, opt for Birch Hill's Blue Loop. The trail features close proximity to downtown and the Birch Hill Recreation Area is essentially an urban trail system. There is much to see along this set of trails that is especially popular with cross country skiers.
