The Valley Bar is a prominent building located in downtown Phoenix, constructed in 1949 on Central Avenue. The interior design, created by Patch & Clark Design, is characterized by soft yellows, cool greys, and bright whites, evoking the feeling of Arizona's abundant sunlight. The Valley Bar is a distinct Arizona space that pays homage to the past and present of Phoenix life. The Rose Room has eight beers on draft and a drink menu with over 50 wines and signature cocktails named after local politicians of varying degrees of infamy. The Game Room at Valley Bar has two billiards tables, shuffleboard, two skeeball games, board games, pinball, darts, and more. The Music Hall at Valley Bar is an intimate, 250-capacity room that showcases all varieties of music, film, spoken word, and comedy.

This entertainment venue specializes in bringing top-name performers to the stage, particularly jazz and adult contemporary musicians. One of the most impressive aspects of Chandler Center for the Arts is its three dynamic performance spaces, the 1500-seat Main Stage, the 350-seat Hal Bogle Theatre, and the 250-seat Recital Hall. In addition, the center boasts two extensive art galleries, The Gallery at CCA and Vision Gallery, which showcase the work of today’s most engaging, enlightening, and relevant artists.

Escape the hustle and bustle of the city by taking a self-guided quarter-mile nature trail that features over 1,500 recorded petroglyphs on nearly 600 boulders, native desert plants, and animals in their natural habitat at the Deer Valley Petroglyph Preserve. The preserve also has historical research data and displays of ongoing Southwest archaeology research by ASU faculty and students. The museum, gallery, trail, and free audio tour are available for the petroglyph trail. The university has been operating, protecting, and preserving the site since 1994, and there are plenty of opportunities to explore and learn more about the area and indigenous cultures through guided tours, publications, and ongoing lecture series.
