The center has been around since 1984 and only improves with age. From nationally traveling exhibits to daily demonstrations, something exciting always happens here. And if you're looking for something exceptional, check out the center's summer science camp and other fun events throughout the year. With so much to explore, it's no wonder that the Arizona Science Center is such a popular destination for schoolchildren and adults alike. Whether you're interested in classrooms, gallery space, or great hands-on exhibits, this museum has it all. And with an IMAX Theatre, a planetarium, and a gift shop and lunchroom, you will want to stay for a while.
Visit the last remaining basilica in Arizona, St. Mary's Basilica. As the oldest Catholic parish in the city, this beautiful church has a rich history and is worth a visit. St. Mary's Basilica is also one of the most-photographed religious icons in the area. The structure has an otherworldly, unique atmosphere, and visitors often live in a peaceful state of mind. Interestingly, in 1985, Pope John Paul II declared St. Mary's a Minor Basilica, a massive deal in the Catholic Church. So, if you're in Phoenix, check out this fantastic piece of history.
If you want to learn more about the rich culture and history of Latin Americans, the Arizona Latino Arts & Cultural Center is a must-visit destination. Located in the heart of downtown Phoenix, ALAC offers changing exhibits, workshops, classes, and seminars that provide insights into the vibrant Latino community. After a guided tour, visit the gift shop and bookstore to take home a piece of this unique cultural experience.
