Walk through living history at the Heritage Square Museum. The Heritage Square attraction is actually a collection of homes in the Montecito Heights neighborhood. These houses demonstrate the growth and change in Los Angeles from 1850 to 1950. Tour Victorian Era houses and learn about the everyday lives of the Angelenos who used to live in them.
Spend an evening at the opera. The Los Angeles Opera, the fourth largest opera company in the United States, performs during its regular season at the Los Angeles Music Center. Opera lovers of all ages will enjoy the high-quality performances by rising opera stars, as well as a variety of education and community outreach programs.
Aside from an extensive collection of rare books, manuscripts and art, the Huntington Library Art Collections and Botanical Gardens also contain 120 acres of landscaped gardens. Of the dozen principal gardens open to the public, the Children's Garden is most popular for the younger visitors. Children can learn about plants and different elements of nature through fun, hands-on activities.
Laugh yourself silly at the Comedy Store. The Comedy Store has three rooms-the Original room, the Main Room and the Belly Room-with a variety of local, national and international talent lined up to perform every night. Previous performers include stars such as Dave Chappelle, Daniel Tosh, Russell Brand, Roseanne Barr and Ahmed Ahmed.
