Enjoy some free jazz at the Central Avenue Jazz Festival held annually on Central Avenue, the home of LA jazz in the 1930s and 40s. Enjoy food, art, community outreach programs and, of course, some of the best music from favorite local and national jazz artists, as well as high school bands.

Opened in 1913, the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County is the largest museum in the western US. Walk through 4.5 billion years of history as you stroll through the exhibits. Artifacts, fossils and specimen dating back from prehistory to today are preserved and displayed on all three floors.

Once owned by Paramount Studios, Paramount Ranch hosted a number of large-scale sets featured in movies and television shows dating from the golden age of cinema in 1927 to the final episode of Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman in 1997. The majority of the sets have since been removed, but the set of a western town remains intact for visitors.

Check out one of the most successful teams in the history of the NBA. The Los Angeles Lakers formed in 1947 and quickly rose among the ranks. The second most valuable NBA franchise, the Lakers hold the record for the longest winning streak as well as 17 championships.
