What started out as a group of filmmakers who were denied entrance to the Sundance Film Festival and decided not to take no for an answer is today’s Slamdance Film Festival. Get in line to see the best emerging independent artist films in multiple genres and topics from every country around the world.
Walk through living history at the Heritage Square Museum. The Heritage Square attraction is actually a collection of homes in the Montecito Heights neighborhood. These houses demonstrate the growth and change in Los Angeles from 1850 to 1950. Tour Victorian Era houses and learn about the everyday lives of the Angelenos who used to live in them.
If you are willing to travel a bit out of the main LA area, be sure to add the Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden to your destinations list. This gorgeous, 127-acre garden and outdoor oasis is nestled into the low-key San Gabriel town, near the mountains. The Arboretum houses luscious plant collections from all over the world, including many rare and endangered species.
