Growing Garden Wonderschool

If you are willing to travel a bit out of the main LA area, be sure to add the Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden to your destinations list. This gorgeous, 127-acre garden and outdoor oasis is nestled into the low-key San Gabriel town, near the mountains. The Arboretum houses luscious plant collections from all over the world, including many rare and endangered species.

Spend a day having fun in the sun at Six Flags Magic Mountain. Meet Looney Tunes and DC Comic characters as you enjoy the rides, attractions and shows in the nine themed areas within the amusement park. Have a truly magical day-with over a dozen rollercoasters, two water flumes, a go-kart track and more. There are enough activities at Magic Mountain to keep you busy all day and coming back for more.

Located near the California Science Center, the California African American Museum opened its doors to the public in 1981 in order to share the history, art and culture of African Americans with all Angelenos. Permanent and traveling exhibitions use a wide range of art and artifacts to educate the museum's guests.
