Since opening in 2001, Dolby Theatre has served as a venue for televised theater performances. When not hosting the annual Academy Awards Ceremonies or American Idol, the theater presents a variety of public cultural events and entertainment. Concerts, shows and performances by national artists are common, including Cirque du Soleil.
The Los Angeles Clippers formed in 1970 as a professional basketball team, part of the National Basketball Association. The sports team has had six winning seasons since its formation, although the athletes continue to provide a competitive, fun game for fans and spectators. Meanwhile, the team has begun a rebuilding with Blake Griffin.
The Armand Hammer Museum of Art and Culture Center, or the Hammer Museum as it is more commonly referred to, is an art museum specializing in key single-artist and thematic exhibitions of historic or contemporary work. Originally created to house Armand Hammer's personal art collection, the museum is now operated by UCLA's School of Arts and Architecture and has expanded to include the Billy Wilder Theater.
