Los Angeles has an overabundance of talented artists who participate in the multiple art walks scattered throughout the city. The Downtown LA Art Walk is the largest (120 square blocks!) and most popular, showcasing the best galleries, artists, vendors, restaurants and shops in downtown. Stop by every second Thursday of the month from noon until 9PM for an unforgettable experience.
Watch the Los Angeles Kings tear up the ice in the Staples Center. Created as part of the 1967 NHL expansion, the LA Kings continue to reach for the crown after having advanced to the Stanley Cup Finals in the 1992-93 season and losing to the Montreal Canadians in five games. Watch this sports team fight for the win next time they hit the ice.
Aside from an extensive collection of rare books, manuscripts and art, the Huntington Library Art Collections and Botanical Gardens also contain 120 acres of landscaped gardens. Of the dozen principal gardens open to the public, the Children's Garden is most popular for the younger visitors. Children can learn about plants and different elements of nature through fun, hands-on activities.
Explore 36 miles of trails through the open grasslands, cliffs and canyons of Topanga State Park. Located near the Santa Monica Mountains, this state park also provides a lovely view of the Pacific Ocean. Discover a number of geographical wonders, like earthquake faults, marine fossils and volcanic intrusions while taking in the sights at this outdoor destination.
