Visit The Music Center in Los Angeles, also known as the Performing Arts Center of Los Angeles, for some of the best concerts and entertainment in the nation. The third largest performing arts center in the United States, the Music Center consists of four houses on its 11-acre campus: the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, the Ahmanson Theatre, the Mark Taper Forum, and the Walt Disney Concert Hall.
Enjoy some free jazz at the Central Avenue Jazz Festival held annually on Central Avenue, the home of LA jazz in the 1930s and 40s. Enjoy food, art, community outreach programs and, of course, some of the best music from favorite local and national jazz artists, as well as high school bands.
Learn about the Ice Age at the La Brea Tar Pits near the Page Museum. One of the world's most famous attractions for fossil localities, the La Brea Tar Pits provide a window into the past through plant and animal fossils. The Page Museum displays the collection of found specimens (including giant mammoths and saber-toothed cats), and offers the opportunity to watch bones being cleaned and repaired in the Laboratory.
