The Fire Arts Festival sets the night on fire with a celebration of creation with fire and light. You'll be mesmerized when your night lights up with spectacular exhibitions of scorching hot fire art, performance fire, and fire sculptures that send swirling flames thousands of feet into pitch black air.

Come hear the sound of music at Woodminster Summer Musicals. Bring your favorite blanket and take a seat on the grassy knoll to watch an outdoor musical under the stars. Sing, dance and cheer to classical musical sensations such as Oliver, and My Fair Lady. These musical evenings are held in Oakland's "Cathedral in the Woods" aka, Joaquin Miller Park.

Reach for the stars at the Chabot Space and Science Center. The 86,000-square-foot learning and teaching center places focus on astronomy and space sciences. Spend a family fun, scientific day exploring the center's many interactive space and science exhibitions and attractions like the star dropping planetarium, and giant screen movie MegaDome!

Tree huggers love spending time outdoors at Redwood Regional Park. Oakland's hidden redwood forest is the perfect 1,829-acre park to hug a really big tree. The park scurries with deer, raccoons, rabbits, and squirrels sharing their home with joggers, hikers, bikers, and mild-mannered walkers. Overnight reservations welcome, so campers pack your gear!
