Come hear the sound of music at Woodminster Summer Musicals. Bring your favorite blanket and take a seat on the grassy knoll to watch an outdoor musical under the stars. Sing, dance and cheer to classical musical sensations such as Oliver, and My Fair Lady. These musical evenings are held in Oakland's "Cathedral in the Woods" aka, Joaquin Miller Park.

A rose by any other name is still a rose at the Morcom Rose Garden. The municipal rose garden opened in 1920 with a green thumb that reaches across eight acres of green space blooming more than 6,000 roses. The classic rose garden is the ideal place for you to stop and smell the roses and capture picture perfect memories.

The Layover music bar and art lounge dances to the beat of its own drum in the heart of downtown Oakland. The bohemian interior spins an eclectic mix of DJ line ups, bands and showcases art collections of Bay Area artists. Don't waiver on the USS Potomac, affectionately dubbed the "Floating White House." Welcome aboard Franklin D. Roosevelt's presidential yacht, one of the few floating museum attractions in the nation. More than one million people have visited and sailed aboard the restored 165-foot vessel. This unique attraction is a national historic landmark and a memorial to FDR and his accomplishments.
