The Big Bear Solar Observatory proves to be as mighty and impressive as its name. This facility was originally built back in 1965 by the California Institute of Technology and is now maintained by the New Jersey Institute of Technology. It has the distinction of being one of only six solar observatories in the world, plus the added attraction of being located on an island in the center of a lake in the San Bernardino Mountains. The location proves to be ideal for looking heavenward as there is minimal pollution, the skies are typically clear, and the airflow is smooth, making for great views that are nothing less than stunning.
The Robert and Frances Fullerton Museum of Art is located on the campus of California State University San Bernardino. The museum is an impressive facility that's home to a collection of close to 1,200 objects that include ceramics and ancient and contemporary art, as well as a large collection of Egyptian artifacts that features 500 pieces spanning over 4,000 years of history. These are just some of the museum's many highlights, which complements its many exhibits with lectures, special presentations and various seasonal events.
The Finish Line Sports Grill is a one-stop nightlife spot for the sports enthusiast. You won't miss a minute of the big game as the Finishline features numerous flat-screen televisions nearly everywhere you look. Plus, the menu includes some of the best food anywhere, from game favorites like nachos and buffalo wings to burgers and sandwiches to full entrees, too. The bar is well stocked with an impressive selection of beers from all over the world, and the barkeeps can serve up any drink you can think of. So get ready to enjoy the game, plus a whole lot more, when you make it to the Finishline!
The bright flurry of violins and the ominous timbre of the cellos are just a few of the sounds you will hear once the conductor raises his baton over the San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra. This highly accomplished group of musicians works hard to bring the best of the classics to audiences in San Bernardino year round. Some of their most notable presentations have been the Orchestral Treasures series, Tchaikovsky's Finest, as well as various seasonal favorites like The Nutcracker.
