The Eco Thrift Store in San Bernardino makes looking for bargains a really fun experience. Whether you are searching for clothes, housewares, or other household items, you will find a tremendously inviting selection of items here in this area favorite. Gently used children's clothes and accessories, shoes and even formal attire can all be found here, as well. The store relies on donations from area residents, which means that the selection is constantly changing, so it is well worth it to visit often to find the best deals.
Rim Nordic is an attraction that challenges you to not only enjoy its natural surroundings, but also to get back to the basics. You will find this retreat in the heart of the San Bernardino National Forest. Rustic is really the only way to describe the area, as there are always plenty of visitors to the area year round. In the winter months, the resorts are full of activity thanks to the many skiers and snowboarders and the warmer months are equally as active, due to the mountain bikers and hikers who enjoy Rim Nordic's challenging terrain.
The Big Bear Solar Observatory proves to be as mighty and impressive as its name. This facility was originally built back in 1965 by the California Institute of Technology and is now maintained by the New Jersey Institute of Technology. It has the distinction of being one of only six solar observatories in the world, plus the added attraction of being located on an island in the center of a lake in the San Bernardino Mountains. The location proves to be ideal for looking heavenward as there is minimal pollution, the skies are typically clear, and the airflow is smooth, making for great views that are nothing less than stunning.
