The California Theatre of Performing Arts is the Inland Empire's Premiere Theater and has worked hard to legitimately earn that title. This stunning 1,718-seat auditorium was built in 1928 and continues the legacy by presenting a wide variety of different performances that include legitimate theater, musicals, ballet, recitals, plays, symphony celebrity headliners, fashion shows, corporate seminars, and even graduation and naturalization ceremonies. This entertainment venue continues to proudly serve a population of 26 million people within its 30 mile radius.

The Big Bear Solar Observatory proves to be as mighty and impressive as its name. This facility was originally built back in 1965 by the California Institute of Technology and is now maintained by the New Jersey Institute of Technology. It has the distinction of being one of only six solar observatories in the world, plus the added attraction of being located on an island in the center of a lake in the San Bernardino Mountains. The location proves to be ideal for looking heavenward as there is minimal pollution, the skies are typically clear, and the airflow is smooth, making for great views that are nothing less than stunning.

The Riverside Art Museum is a fertile ground for creativity. In addition to presenting an impressive series of noteworthy exhibits, the museum takes great pride in both art appreciation and its creation. Fans of fishing will love casting their lines here, as the lake waters are full of trout, large-mouth bass, and bluegill. There are also plenty of trails that promise a satisfying hiking experience, excellent camping areas, and lots of green open spaces to stretch out and have some relaxing fun in the sunshine.
