Striking out is a good thing when the whole family heads out to Pacific Avenue Bowl. This is one of Stockton's favorite places for great family fun. If you feel like you want to explore as much of nature and wildlife as you can but are limited by time, then make a trip to the Micke Grove Zoo. This impressive facility houses creatures from all over the globe that include such popular residents as monkeys, iguanas and a stunning collection of exotic birds and equally interesting amphibians. In addition to offering a great environment to walk around and view the animals in their natural habitats, the zoo also features various seasonal events as well as a variety of educational programs.

The San Joaquin County Historical Society & Museum is a fascinating, multidimensional time capsule of the area. Learn about the settlement history, local terrain, homesteads and the role of the Gold Rush in the social and economic development of the region. Additionally, see exhibits on wine making, tractors, gardening and a blacksmith shop as well as a generous selection of antiques and furnishings. Plus, there are various demonstrations of how all of these items were pivotal in the lives of the area’s early inhabitants.
