California is known for many things, but wine is perhaps one of the most famous. The fine products of area vineyards are brought together in a creative and delicious way with the Wine and Chocolate Weekend, scheduled close to Valentine's Day every February. The event takes place in Lodi Wine Country and guests enjoy the finest wines paired with the most decadent chocolate concoctions which add up to an experience that is as aromatic as it is delicious.
Stockton Asparagus Festival
Every April, Stockton presents a very tasty celebration with the Stockton Asparagus Festival. The three-day multi-event has been held every year for the past 27 years, and continues to get more popular. Enjoy over 100 arts and crafts vendors as well as plenty of food and product vendors. This is the place where the world-famous Deep Fried Asparagus Eating Championship proudly takes place. This is the largest food festival in the Central Valley, and it also holds the distinction of being the state's largest charitable event.
San Joaquin County Fair
With the arrival of June also comes the arrival of one of Northern California's premier county fairs, the San Joaquin County Fair. Everyone looks forward to this festival as it is five full days of fun, music, food and frivolity. A big-name concert is always the center point of the action, but the fair offers plenty of other great activities that include a carnival, a livestock show, plenty of fun and interactive exhibits.
With the arrival of fall, revelers make it a point to take in Stocktoberfest. This is downtown Stockton's version of the very popular Oktoberfest. This festival draws large crowds who enjoy the authentic German food, traditional and local entertainment as well as plenty of beer!
San Joaquin Film Society
