Stockton was once home to a thriving Filipino culture. While many Filipinos still make their home here, the older generation may remember when they were all concentrated in the Little Manila section of the city. Today, only three buildings are still standing from what was once the largest thriving Filipino community in the United States. The park offers plenty of great activities throughout the spring and summer that are designed to educate visitors about the plants, animals and ecosystem that all contribute to the area's obvious natural beauty. The trails remain open in the fall and winter but the Center's activities are limited to the constraints of the weather.
