Colorado Springs Pikes Peak, aka, America's Mountain, is the most visited mountain in North America and the second most visited mountain in the world behind Japan's Mount Fuji. Over a half a million people reach the summit peak, most by the Pikes Peak Cog Railway to enjoy the stunning panoramic views. A stone's throw away is the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, Cave of the Winds, Garden of the Gods and many other famous attractions.
Explore a rare historical treasure at the Manitou Cliff Dwellings, located in the foothills of Pikes Peak, just minutes outside of Colorado Springs. Go inside the fascinating remnants of the red stone cliff dwellings built seven hundred years ago by the Anasazi Indians, and discover their cultural rituals and daily routines.
Medieval times were long before The Glen Eyrie Castle was built in Colorado Springs by its founding father in the 1800s. The famous city landmark and attraction boasts 67-rooms with 24 fireplaces with a primitive intercom system and chimneys designed to hold smoke until the wind blew the proper direction away from the valley. Today it is host to tours and Christian conferences and retreats.
