The event has a rich community tradition and a well-established reputation and features over 100 artist booth spaces. Artists are selected through a competitive jury process overseen by art professionals. More than half of the participating artists usually travel to Golden from outside Colorado.

Ogden Theatre is a historic venue that has entertained audiences since 1918, first with vaudeville performances by legends like Harry Houdini and later as a movie theater.
