The garden is a facility that features controlled climates so that some of the plants that are kept there can thrive as they would in their natural environments. Since the 1800s, this Garden has been gathering different types of plants and flowers from all over the world, not only for conservation efforts but to also explore their medicinal and cultural benefits. After you see all of this in the Garden's conservatory, stroll through Bartholdi Park to breathe in the fragrant flower beds and marvel at the fountain designed by Frederic Auguste Bartholdi, who designed the Statue of Liberty. Capitol Coin and Stamp is a haven for both history buffs and political memorabilia collectors. The shop features a far-reaching array of items that include everything from bumper stickers, election pins, T-shirts and political posters that literally span the entire century of political activity. There are even some items that date back to Abraham Lincoln's Presidential campaign! So, there's no excuse for not leaving Washington without some type of political souvenir from this interesting shop.

That place is the Discovery Theater. Part of the Smithsonian, this venue was founded in 1964 as the Smithsonian Puppet Theater. The ways that the stories are presented may have changed, but the original spirit is still very much alive. The kids will see fun and educational presentations and attractions that include everything from Polynesian dancing to live snake shows and dazzling magicians. The Discovery Theater is truly a great choice for family friendly fun.

If you aren't quite sure of the steps, there are lessons available to help you find your groove. There isn't much time to be off your feet, but if you do need a bit of a breather, there are excellent lounges on the third and fourth floors that will revitalize your spirit. The specialty drink at Habana Village is the mojito, a tasty mix of rum, sugar and crushed mint leaves that will help you get dancing again, too.
