This museum serves as a museum, library and research center for Florida International University, and houses over 120,000 art pieces in its collection, all ranging in time periods from the Industrial Revolution to the close of WWII. Industrial-design objects, glass and metal works, rare books, paintings, and more are all showcased in the collection; these pieces have been amassed by the museum from countries all over the world.

Outdoor activities have made a cozy home at Tropical Park. Accompanying miles of paved trails for walking, running and biking, are amenities like tennis, racquetball and basketball courts, soccer, football and softball fields, a dog park, and four lakes.
