Join in the celebration of Caribbean culture at the Atlanta Caribbean Carnival. Bright costumes, music and parades are a large part of this festival, along with Caribbean food, arts and crafts, and other live entertainment. The festival is celebrated right before Lent, and is somewhat of a "last hurrah" before the observation of the Catholic tradition.

Take time to pay tribute to one of the main leaders of the Civil Rights Movement by visiting the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site. The 35-acre site features a number of buildings and memorial sites, including Dr. King's childhood home, the original Ebenezer Baptist Church, Fire Station No. 6, the "I Have a Dream" International World Peace Rose Garden, the "International Civil Rights Walk of Fame," and a memorial to Mohandas K. Gandhi. While you're visiting the site, be sure to walk through the visitor center for a detailed chronology of the American Civil Rights Movement.

Head out on a family excursion to Six Flags White Water for some wet-n-wild fun. You'll find 70 acres of water rides and attractions like Dragon's Tail and The Cliffhanger for thrill seekers, and Buccaneer Bay and Tree House Island for kids.
