The museum will journey you through African American culture and experiences like slave trade and slavery, segregation, the Civil Rights Movement and lots more. The Apex also features exhibitions dedicated to the many achievements of African Americans.
You haven't really experienced Southern history until you've toured a genuine plantation home. Journey back through time as you walk through the Archibald Smith Plantation Home. This historic home was built in 1845 and has been preserved over 150 years through the test of time. Exhibits in the home include a feature on the Smith family and their role during the Civil War.
Go on an undersea excursion without ever getting wet on a trip to the Georgia Aquarium, the world's largest aquarium. Check out exhibits and attractions like Ocean Voyager and River Scout to get a closer look at saltwater and freshwater fish. Throughout your exploration of the aquarium, you'll see creatures like beluga whales, sea horses, whale sharks, sea turtles, a variety of tropical fish, dolphins and hundreds more.
