You haven't really experienced Southern history until you've toured a genuine plantation home. Journey back through time as you walk through the Archibald Smith Plantation Home. This historic home was built in 1845 and has been preserved over 150 years through the test of time. Exhibits in the home include a feature on the Smith family and their role during the Civil War.

Set out on an educational adventure through our planet's history at the Fernbank Museum of Natural History. You'll learn about the Earth's development, the natural environment of Georgia, the mysterious life and death of dinosaurs, and much more. Fernbank Museum offers engaging exhibits and attractions the whole family will love.

See a show at the Alliance Theatre at the Woodruff, a Tony Award-winning theater company in Atlanta. Since opening in 1968 the theater has hosted a number of productions including The Color Purple, Aida, Beauty and the Beast, Treasure Island, Hamlet, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow and many more.

For fresh air, wide-open green space, and some of the most gorgeous trees in the city, head to Candler Park. Along with a large area of open, green space, the park boasts an outdoor playground, pavilion areas, a pool, walking paths, and lots more. Candler Park also hosts community events like CP Movie Nights every month, and a Fall Festival. Fans of running may want to look into joining the Candler Park Running Club to meet with other enthusiasts of the sport.
