Join in the celebration of Caribbean culture at the Atlanta Caribbean Carnival. Bright costumes, music and parades are a large part of this festival, along with Caribbean food, arts and crafts, and other live entertainment. The festival is celebrated right before Lent, and is somewhat of a "last hurrah" before the observation of the Catholic tradition.
Head out for a romantic breakfast, brunch, lunch dinner or midnight snack at the R. Thomas Deluxe Grill. The 24 hour grill has become one of Atlanta's premier dining destinations, advertising a broad selection on the menu with a California-style flair. We recommend favorites like the Portabella Melt or Curry Coconut Seafood Linguine, and finishing off with dessert like Turtle Dove Cheesecake - yum!
Explore the history of the city at the Atlanta History Center. The museum features rotating and traveling exhibits, and houses six permanent exhibits that showcase relevant points in Atlanta history. Events and time periods spotlighted include the city's expansion from a rural area to a metropolis, the Civil Rights Movement in the city, and the city during the Civil War. The Atlanta History Center boasts one of the largest collections of Civil War artifacts in the world. This museum and attraction also has historic homes and gardens on its grounds, and has been teaching the public about Atlanta's history since 1926.
The Porter Beer Bar invites you to "Eat, Drink & Be Merry!" This beer bar is one of the premier destinations for beer lovers and takes pride in making over 430 brews available for guests. For yummy foods like Belgian fries and goat cheese fritters, a wide variety of alcohol, and one of the best nightlife spots in Atlanta, plan to spend your evening at The Porter Beer Bar.
