Take pride in a true American, Southern art form at the Atlanta Jazz Festival. The jazz genre has deep roots in the South, and Atlanta has celebrated those roots for the past thirty years. The Paul Mitchell Trio, Art Blakely, Don Cherry, Freddie Hubbard, John McLauglin, Herbie Hancock, and Miles Davis are just a few jazz legends who have played at the ATL Jazz Fest.

Take in the eerie beauty of Georgia's oldest burial grounds, the Oakland Cemetery. The cemetery was founded in 1850 and there are an estimated 70,000 people laid to rest in its 48-acre expanse. Sections of the cemetery include the New Jewish section, the Black section, the Confederate section, and the cemetery's Original Six Acres; each section represents a different time in history. Some of Atlanta's most important and influential figures are interred here.

On your exploration of the 33-acre center, you'll see photographs and artifacts that detail time periods of Atlanta's past. Other features include various gardens, a research library, two historic homes, and the Margaret Mitchell House & Museum.
