You haven't really experienced Southern history until you've toured a genuine plantation home. Journey back through time as you walk through the Archibald Smith Plantation Home. This historic home was built in 1845 and has been preserved over 150 years through the test of time. Exhibits in the home include a feature on the Smith family and their role during the Civil War.
Learn about African American history at the Apex Museum. The museum will journey you through African American culture and experiences like slave trade and slavery, segregation, the Civil Rights Movement and lots more. The Apex also features exhibitions dedicated to the many achievements of African Americans.
If you were ever a Cabbage Patch Kids fanatic, revisit your childhood at the Babyland General Hospital - the birthplace of the Cabbage Patch Kid dolls. This toyland sits on 650 beautifully landscaped acres, and you'll find that the hospital is housed in a gorgeous Southern-style home. When you visit here, you'll get to see a Cabbage Patch doll being made and then have the opportunity to take it home to add to your collection. It's a heart warming attraction for young and old.
