Bring your appetite and get ready to feast at the Atlanta Food & Wine Festival. The festival showcases Southern cuisine prepared by area experts - pit masters, chefs, and local growers who are essentially masters of their craft. You won't go thirsty at this event either; there are plenty of fine wines, beers and other beverages to wash your food down with and quench your thirst.
Satisfy your need for speed with a visit to the Atlanta Motor Speedway. This southern speedway is host to NASCAR's famous Sprint Cup race, held every year on Labor Day weekend. If you're not one to watch laps and laps of a NASCAR race, the track hosts "Friday Night Drags" from spring until fall. The cars competing in the drag races hit top speeds, flying down a 1/8 mile stretch.
Check out a piece of urban Atlanta's history by visiting The English-American Building, more widely known as the Flatiron Building. The building is located in the downtown business district and was built in 1897, making it the city's oldest standing skyscraper. The exterior of the Flatiron is mostly original, though the interior has been widely remodeled. If you're into history and architecture, then you'll definitely want to see this historic building.
Travel back in time and feast like knights of the round table during a family meal at the Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament. This unique dinner theater is housed in a replica of an 11th century Spanish castle, and during your family feast, you'll see knights in shining armor dueling in sword fights, jousting, and other medieval games. A dinner at this one-of-a-kind attraction won't soon be forgotten.
