Join in the celebration of Caribbean culture at the Atlanta Caribbean Carnival. Bright costumes, music and parades are a large part of this festival, along with Caribbean food, arts and crafts, and other live entertainment. The festival is celebrated right before Lent, and is somewhat of a "last hurrah" before the observation of the Catholic tradition.

Be part of the crowd that makes the High Museum of Art one of the most-visited museums in the world. When you stroll through this museum, you'll see over 11,000 pieces of art, including works by Claude Monet, Dorothea Lange, and Chuck Close. The arts showcased in the museum span the 19th and 20th centuries and feature American and European art, decorative arts, modern and contemporary art, photography, and media arts. Plan a romantic stay at Stonehurst Place, a bed and breakfast with plenty of history behind it. Stonehurst was built in 1896, therefore securing its place on the National Register of Historic Places. Get your fill of nature and its greatest creatures at the Cochran Mill Nature Center. The center provides education on a variety of topics involving animals, their habitats, and our environment. Cochran Mill also aids with wildlife rehabilitation, taking in injured animals and nursing them back to health when possible, and permanently housing them when unable to return to the wild.
