Spend some time exploring Georges Island and its main inhabitant Fort Warren. Along with the impressive historic fort, there are several buildings that helped to aid the military, including a granite powder magazine, a searchlight station, a generator building, an electrical communications building and a few other types of structures. This destination offers an inside look at our military's past, and a sweeping view of Boston's beauty.
Soak up some sun at the Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park. Boston's first waterfront park offers a gorgeous view of the harbor, along with playgrounds, fountains, public art and monuments, space to run, and places to lay out and bask in the beauty of nature. You'll enjoy time spent outdoors here.
Journey to the center of the Earth at Boston's Mapparium, a large attraction housed at the Mary Baker Eddy Library. The Mapparium is a three-story, painted-glass dome with a glass bridge stretching across the “globe”, allowing visitors to stand in the middle of the Earth. The lovely structure is illuminated with LED lights during the presentation of A World Of Ideas, which is basically an exhibition global history.
